Dr. Michael (Micky) Cohen-Wolkowiez is Chief Medical Officer at Lightship, providing scientific and medical leadership across clinical studies. A pediatric infectious disease specialist, Micky has more than 15 years of experience designing and conducting innovative trials in diverse populations, including children. He earned his medical degree at the Central University of Venezuela, completed residency and fellowship training at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Duke University, and holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to his role at Lightship, Micky is a Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University and the Duke Clinical Research Institute.
